I liked your take on these archetypes! It's interesting because we see these two inflect other types of dudes in literature, film, tv, music, etc as you allude to in the beginning. Though, how do you think these archetypes fit with de Beauvior's in her book "The Ethics of Ambiguity"? I see the connection just because both seem extremely inauthentic in some ways i.e. the nice guys fit the serious man's description, and the bad boy fits the adventurer's description (or at least in my half-baked analysis lol). Both to me seem very nihilistic, but that's just me lol. Your or anyone else's thoughts?
